The story of Esther
(Book of Esther)
Narrator: The king needs a new queen, and a small-town girl named Esther has been chosen! When Esther wakes up with the weight of the world on her shoulders and the fate of her people in her hands, can she find the courage to do what’s right?
(get ready for palace scene while narrator speaks)
Narrator: In the days of Ahasuerus, king of the Persia, the Jews who have been carried away captive into Babylon were spread throughout all the eastern provinces. Haman, a powerful man in the kingdom, hated the Jews. When he found out that Mordecai was a Jew, he was even more upset. Mordecai always sat outside the palace gates but never bowed like the others when Haman passes by.
(people standing around like a market scene. Haman rides by. Everyone bows except for Mordecai. They look at each other. Haman looks mad, Mordecai looks confident)
(Haman exits, then Mordecai, then others)
